Make It A Good Day

My blog entry for this date will be general observations of some interesting things that have come across my desk in the last few days that I’d like to pass on to you. I hope you’ll read to the end and read “The Principle Of The Garbage Truck.”

Partly because it is so closely related to transcription (or it could be), I’ve been interested in scrapbooking, but also partly because I like that sort of thing, although I’ve never had very much time to devote to it.

If you put together a scrapbook of family interest, one of the best things you can include is either an audio describing the pictures and events, or an audio and a transcription with a description. The latter really works well because it includes all of one’s modalities, hearing, seeing and reading. Read more

Big Seminar 11 Comes to A Close

I won, I won.  Oh, what a wonderful feeling.

I won the 1st Runner Up prize in the Better Your Best Contest sponsored by Internet Marketing Guru Armand Morin.  Armand is the promoter for the Big Seminar which is the longest running Internet Marketing Seminar in the world.  They have trained more people about Internet Marketing than any other seminar in the world.

They have a coaching group called AM2 which sponsors the Better Your Best contest.  I entered that contest this year and won the 1st Runner Up prize of $3,000.  I also got a laptop computer.  Yeaaaa. Read more

Yesterday, I decided to do a current search on digital recorders and I learned some good news:  We’re getting more and paying less.  I did a search on Olympus and found that for the same amount we were paying a year ago, we are actually getting longer recording times.

Then I went to a couple of local sources for purchasing recorders and found out the same thing. It occurred to me that this is a new technology and that some of you may be a little wary of trying it.  It’s kind of like going from the standard typewriter to the electric typewriter.  It was new and we had a lot of new stuff to learn.  Then again, when going from an electric typewriter to a computer.  More new stuff to learn.  And now along comes this new technology and there’s more stuff to learn.

Internet Marketing Explained

This will be a quick post. I am really excited about my coming weekend. Last November I joined Armand Morin’s AM2Gold program and am feeling really good about the progress I’m making in my Internet Marketing business as well as my transcription business. I’m excited about this weekend because I’ll be attending the IME Seminar in which Armand will be explaining the Internet Marketing Explained product he has spent a full year creating. This product is AWESOME..

So you can see why I’m so excited about this upcoming weekend in which I will be able to meet a lot of other people (over 500) who are in the program as well as immerse myself into this new product. The product is the most comprehensive course ever developed and includes over 800 pages and 32 CDs explaining, in depth, about every aspect of Internet Marketing. You can find out more about it by clicking here.

If you order right now, you’ll still be able to attend this weekend, especially if you live in the Los Angeles area.

You’ll hear more about it next week, as well as other exciting things and upcoming events.

The Nuts And Bolts of Transcription

If you’ve never used a transcription service, you may have questions about how it works, what you can expect from the service, how you contact them and what you will get back. In a recent interview I did with Yolanda McIntosh on Womens Radio, we covered that subject. You can listen to it at Womens Radio. In the interview we covered what “transcription” means.Basically, transcription is taking information from an audio and typing it or putting it into words onto a piece of paper that can be read.Perhaps you’ve seen on television assistants or secretaries in older movies taking shorthand. That’s the way I started. When I was in high school I learned how to do shorthand and then when I was in the work world, I would take shorthand from my boss and then I would transcribe it, type it into a letter or whatever the document was.

We’re much more sophisticated now, because we take the audio, an MP3 or WAV or whatever format you may have recorded it in, and with the software and equipment we have on our computer, we can transcribe your audio. Read more

Preserve Your Legacy!

Did you realize that the best way to leave a legacy for your family is to leave a recording for them? The other day while on a family visit I was talking to my grandson (actually the husband of my granddaughter so I guess that makes him my grandson-in-law). He is a very intelligent, extremely inquisitive, industrious person.

He is currently going to college studying marketing and I love talking to him because he has all these insights into companies he has studied. To gather facts about companies, he does a lot of telephone interviewing.

I asked him if it would be advantageous when interviewing these people if he could record the conversation. He got very excited. “Oh, that would be cool,” he told me. Read more

Were you contemplating how to achieve success during the last weeks of 2007, during that period when you were strategizing how to make it happen bigger and better in 2008?Personally, I learn better from someone else’s experiences. I like success stories and proven success formulas. That’s why I like Internet Marketer Jim Edwards’ success story so much. Read more

Updated November 14, 2007

You’ve not heard much from me recently, partly because I lost the use of my computer almost entirely for six weeks. I have often said that you could put me on a desert island and I would be okay as long as you also gave me my computer. At no time have I felt this to be more true.

This happened very close to the same time as the fires here in Southern California. Of course my computer crash pales in comparison to the problems faced by the fire victims in Southern California. However, these two events happening so closely together made me wonder: Exactly what are the steps one should take to prevent losing data either from a computer crash or because of a natural disaster? You’ve heard me say it before, but I really believe that Teleseminars are probably the single most prolific product source you can do. In this article, which you can read at Teleseminars, I list at least 20 items which can be created from just one hour-long teleseminar. If you’ve done a telesmeinar yourself, you can probably add to that list.If you are interested in doing a teleseminar and wondering how to do it, please contact me at contactus@greattranscriptions.com. We are now providing packaged services such as helping you host your teleseminar, advice on a bridge line and recording, and providing you with the transcript. Even if you don’t have anyone attend your first few teleseminars you will have enough information for a product and a source for other uses.

To name a few of the things you can do with just one teleseminar: extract portions for articles, transcript for magazine or ezine articles, and of course, my favorite is to combine several teleseminar transcripts to become your book.

My friend Jeanette Cates also has a great product which shows you how to do teleseminars. I follow her tutorial when putting on a teleseminar. When Lynette Smith and I did our teleseminar on August 12, I followed Jeanette’s outline while conducting the interview. You can find out about that product at www.tele-basics.com.

For the novice, teleseminars are scary. I know they were (and still are to tell the absolute truth) for me, but it is a fear well worth conquering and with a little practice, you can do it. Have fun with it. Get a few friends together on a bridge line and see how easy it is and how much fun it is. Let me know how it goes.
